Trey Sederwall is a professional bassist based in Los Angeles, known for his versatility, musicality, and deep roots in R&B, gospel, and jazz. Born into the vibrant music scenes of New Jersey and New York, Trey has developed a dynamic voice on the bass that has made him a go-to collaborator for artists across a wide range of genres.
Trey earned his M.M.A. degree from the Los Angeles College of Music, where he refined his craft and deepened his understanding of performance, composition, and contemporary styles. His academic training, combined with years of real-world experience, informs his unique approach to both live and studio work.

Student
Trey began playing bass at the age of 9 and has been immersed in music education ever since. His formative years included private instruction with producer and bassist Mark Peterson — a longtime fixture of the NJ/NY scene and former student of jazz legend Stanley Clarke — who played a key role in shaping Trey’s early development.
Trey went on to earn his Master of Music degree from the Los Angeles College of Music, where he studied under world-renowned musicians Jerry Watts and Mitchel Forman. His time in graduate school not only sharpened his technical ability and stylistic versatility but also deepened his understanding of theory, performance, and pedagogy — all of which inform his work as a player and educator today.
Educator
Trey Sederwall is a dedicated music educator with a passion for mentoring the next generation of bassists. With years of experience teaching privately and through local music centers, he has worked with students of all ages and skill levels, helping them build strong fundamentals, stylistic versatility, and musical confidence.
While earning his Master of Music degree from the Los Angeles College of Music, Trey contributed to the academic environment through collaborative teaching, tutoring, and assisting undergraduate classes.
